GUEST LIST
Maximum early guest count is crucial. Of course you want to invite everybody, but consider if Nancy who you barely talk to is really going to make a difference. Put it this way, the more people you invite the thinner your wallet will be. Also consider the venue and how many people they can actually hold, hence why we always start with a set budget! Speaking of venues…

It’s important to address this ASAP. Considering popular venues may be competitive. So if you’re set on that one place of your dreams, be sure to call ahead of time. This also helps organize and solidify a date for your caterers, florists, and so on.

NYC Central Park Engagement Photo Session with Stacey & Scott

Central Park Engagwww.originphotos.comement Photo Session with Stacey & Scott

The first time I met Stacey & Scott I felt an immediate connection . They are full of life and I do enjoy speaking to them. Throughout the months I've neglected myself to write something about this wonderful couple so here it goes.  We met up on the east side of the park around 70 street and started to walk around . This location sometimes can be a little difficult because of the amount of foot traffic that can disturb the photos . So I tried my best to photograph and really pay attention to the foreground. At the end of the day an engagement session is about the couple so this was my goal.  To be quite honest, Stacey worked really well in front of the camera and made Scott giggle  & laugh many times . Most times I find myself directed people because of how tense they can get. Stacey & Scott were perfect during these moments and it really showed in front of the camera. As we were taking our little stroll throughout Central Park NY
We actually started to shoot pretty early in the day. We wanted to avoid the enormous amount of tourist and people who visit central park on a daily bases. Immediately we started to shoot right by the fountain close to the boathouse .  I suggest you visit this restaurant . It's incredible .  Here a few poses from the shoot .
NYC central Park Engagement session Stacey & Scott NYC Central Park Engagement Session Shortly After, We decided to take a little stroll by the benches. I had Scott & Stacey walk along this path so that I could  capture the essences of the moment. We also utilized one of the benches for a quick shot. It was still kind of early so there weren't many people at the park .  This was perfect so we took advantage of it .

So then as a surprise Stacey & Scott  told me that they had to change.  I didn't know this but this is one of Scott's passions , so they utilized their hunting gear and had a little board made and called it " THE HUNT IS OVER ". Pretty Cool Idea and i'm glad they brought it .  Great times and great photos. Thank you Stacey & Scott for allowing me and my studio to photograph you.

Planting Fields Arboretum Engagement session with Kery & Joe

Planting Fields Arboretum Engagement session with Kery & Joe
Let me begin by saying what an amazing experience meeting Joe & Keri at our office location. One thing I noticed was how much Joe & Keri really respected each other and how much they really enjoyed their company .
We discussed the engagement session in detail and initially we were suppose to shoot in Long beach. Unfortunately , we all know how crazy New York weather is. As a New Yorker we know that within minutes the weather can change drastically.  Well as time went on we finally set a date and Keri & Joe decided to schedule their engagement session at the Planting Fields Arboretum. If you have never been to this place I suggest you visit it. Ive been there a dozen times and it is perfect for any type of photo sessions . I've  shot short films there as well. It is a great place and has character to it. It has over 400 acres of land, filled with flowers, beautiful landscapes, old peaking willow trees,  and a beautiful castle for photographs. You can find our more about it . Just visit the site to obtain more information if you are planning a visit . The website is attached here .
So our first stop was the green house . We snapped a few shots and they came out great. We decided to do a few photographs inside the green house because it actually has an amazing middle 4 way corridor  with a small water pond . Right after the little stroll inside the green house we used the beautiful entrance to the greenhouse and went a little crazy with the photo. Keri suggested this photo and I thought the pose was pretty unique.
origin-photos-keri-&-joe-engagement-session--2origin-photos-keri-&-joe-engagement-session--18
Right after the green house we found a cool little patch of light in the middle of the woods . So I suggested we would jump into it and do a quick photo . It was interesting to see this patch of light at this time . Anyone who knows me well, I love playing with light .
origin-photos--keri-&-joe-engagement-pics--0003
So as we moved closer to the castle we got a little side tracked with the pool area . Although it said no shimming or leaning on the edge we got pretty close to it.  The colors that this garden had was incredible . I kept communicating with  Keri & Joe and I did notice that the more photos we took and the more time we spend together  the more they adapted to each other. ALL NATURAL . At this location we also decided to use the sign that Keri & Joe brought. The sign was a nice touch to the engagement photo session. We actually utilized the sign for their save the date cards as well. See it below to get an idea. I really do encourage my couples always to come up with something that is them . You can always look onto our pinterest board to get inspirations .

Personally I decided to post both of them because I loved both photographs equally. Shortly after , we went over to the castle  We decided to take a nice shot over the little garden area. The sky was just breathless and we tried to so a few more other poses by the brick landscapes. It really was a wonderful area and I will definitely recommend this preserve to any couple who is looking for a nice spot to do portraits or even to have a little romantic getaway .

Finding the Right NYC Wedding Photographer

Finding the Right NYC Wedding Photographer

Engagement photo session moments
Weddings are a celebration of bringing two people together as well as their families and friends. Great memories are made during these occasions and encapsulating these memories is the work for a wedding photographer.
origin photos wedding photography moments
First you’ll need to choose the type of pictures you want. Just like other items included in a wedding, picking styles of picture falls on the couple. Candid, portraiture, fine art, and edgy are some of the different types to choose from. Candid styles are spontaneous, these types of pictures capture the precious times between a husband and wife, and their friends and families.
origin photos wedding moments
Portraiture is more classical with posed shots in chosen backdrops. Fine art and edgy pictures gives the photographer a more creative license when it comes to capturing each moment, using different types of cameras, and diverse or unconventional angles.
origin photos wedding moments 2
It’s important to research what suits you best then look for the right person to do it.
It is much easier these days to find the person to do the job for you, just browse through local listings, look into potential candidates through their websites, blogs, facebook and twitter pages as well as other social networking sites.
origin photos wedding moments -355 copy
Check out their availability for the wedding date and set up an interview either through phone, video chat or in person. Personality should also be taken into consideration as you will work together on that special day.
origin photos wedding moments 12 copy
Find a Long Island wedding photographer personable enough to coax you and your families’ cooperation into taking posed pictures or candid ones.
Discuss the allotted budget and strike the deal. Remember, the person you choose is entrusted with the remembrance of that day, choose the one with the right skill and talent to execute it.

Why is wedding photographer so expensive?

Why is wedding photographer so expensive?

arkansas shoot w (aron, ratchel, angelique, origin)154 copy

Becoming an NYC wedding photographer is not an easy feat but it is all worth it in the end! This is because there are major expenses associated with it and many people usually wonder as to why wedding photography gets to be expensive. Here’s why;
origin photos & vem lee photoshoot44 copy

Labor costs
Labor costs are involved after the Long Island wedding photographer is done with your event and this is in regards to the hours spent editing the images, not forgetting the hours they spent at your nuptials. Editing requires a full 3-4 days for the purposes of getting a wide array of perfect photographs by which to remember your day.
origin photos jane & john 8-1-14 manhattan penthouse 169 copy

Equipment
The type of equipment that the wedding photographer uses are actually not your typical ones and this is because the high-end lenses and bodies basically average about 1500 pounds each! Since the photographer has to always be prepared, backup equipment has to always be carried in case the primary equipment fails, which goes on to add to the cost.

origin photos lynea & brian wedding celebration -60 copy

Repairs
Sometimes the equipment malfunctions and when this happens, they are not just taken to any repair shop for repairing and this is because of their sensitivity.

origin photos sabrina & chris wedding celebration -429 copy

Insurance
Because of the cost that goes into buying the high-tech equipment, insurance has to be factored in just in case someone from the wedding decides to spill champagne over the equipment for the fun of it.

Yearly costs
A professional wedding photographer knows that some particular gear needs updating every year so as to produce perfect images. Cleaning costs and professional subscriptions go on to add to the costs and this is not forgetting the monthly ones.
